Reporting to the Technical Director; This role provides a fantastic career opportunity, whilst developing your skills and experience under the guidance and mentorship of our senior team. You will be able to work across a range of activities at various stages of the systems engineering lifecycle. You will thrive on doing something different every day and be comfortable with ambiguity. You will have a strong desire to learn new things. You will be a good communicator at all levels, able to understand and decompose complexity and present it in simple terms.
The role:
- Understanding project requirements and completing all duties assigned by the Supervisor
- Shadowing senior staff members, asking questions, and assisting wherever possible
- Raising concerns and making suggestions for improvement where appropriate.
- Conducting research and traveling to sites
- Observing health and safety regulations at all times
- Participating in meetings and attending workshops and other training initiatives
- Analysing data and writing reports according to specifications
- Taking notes and sharing your findings with your Supervisor and other relevant stakeholders
- Establishing professional relationships with staff
- Maintaining a high degree of professionalism and diligence.
Providing Consultancy Services in Transportation, Utilities & Energy and Defence & Security sectors throughout Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom, HKRP is a progressive and flexible company, offering the opportunity to work from home, business needs permitting. Travel may be required to project and client offices with occasional overnight stays or longer-term secondments. This may include opportunities for working overseas.
Experience & skills:
Qualifications:
- A minimum of a technical Degree, equivalent qualification or experience Corporate membership with an appropriate professional institution (e.g. INCOSE, SaRS, IET, IMechE)
- Working towards professional qualification (e.g. IEng/CEng).
Experience:
- Previous experience in a technical field would be an advantage
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Superb time management and professionalism
- A growth mindset and willingness to accept criticism
- A valid driver’s license may be required.
Skills:
- Safety first mindset
- MS Office 365 suite of applications – Working knowledge
- Familiar with applying safety in design, systems engineering and system safety assurance practices and processes In line with CDM CSM-RA, CENELEC EN50126 and ISO15288
- Competency in monitoring and managing the scope of a small number of concurrent projects
- Ability to prepare, interpret, review technical reports
- Up-to-date knowledge of the rail industry.
